Safe Handling & Application of Pesticides (PA1)
Who is the course designed for?
This course is essential for all those involved in the storage, handling and application of pesticides. It is a City & Guilds requirement that learners should be able to speak and read English (to understand product labels & complete computer assessment). This award is a pre-requisite for the suite of Pesticide Application Awards.
Course Objectives:
To enable course members to:
- Know the legislative requirements and codes of practice relating to the use of pesticides
- Understand the relevance of product information
- Know how to minimise the risk of human contamination and implement emergency procedures
- Know how to store and transport pesticides safely
- Know how to manage and dispose of surplus pesticide and waste materials
- Know the record keeping requirements
- Know how to minimise the risk of environmental contamination and implement emergency procedures
Duration: 1 Day Training + 1 Hour Assessment on a separate day (all classroom based)
Cost: £240.25 (inclusive of VAT)
Pass rates: We achieve 94% pass rates on Pesticide courses.
Instructor/Trainee Ratio: Max 1:12
