Emergency First Aid
This one-day course is suitable for workers in any industry. Should a Skills Identity card be required we can provide this at an additional cost.
Course Overview
On successful completion of the course participants will understand the role of the first aider. They will understand the importance of preventing cross infection, recording incidents and accidents and the use of available equipment. Candidates will gain the skills required to quickly assess a situation in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency. During the course, using role-play, they will administer CPR and administer first aid to an unconscious casualty, a choking casualty, a wounded or bleeding casualty and treat shock. They will also cover treatment for minor injuries such as small cuts, grazes, minor burns etc.

We also offer this course with additional industry specific bolt-ons. These provide 2 extra hours of input covering : large wounds potentially caused by plant and machinery (e.g. chainsaws); compression injuries, electrocution and suspended casualties.
