Emergency First Aid with Industry Specific Training
This one-day course is suitable for workers in any industry that requires a more in-depth knowledge of how to deal with major injuries. TKF have further developed the EFAW award to suit the requirements of some higher risk industries. Should a Skills Identity card be required we can provide this at an additional cost.
Course Overview
On successful completion of the course participants will understand the role of the first aider. They will understand the importance of preventing cross infection, recording incidents and accidents and the use of available equipment. Candidates will gain the skills required to quickly assess a situation in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency. During the course, using role-play, they will administer CPR and administer first aid to an unconscious casualty, a choking casualty, a wounded or bleeding casualty and treat shock. They will also cover treatment for minor injuries such as small cuts, grazes, minor burns etc.
We will deliver the content that is relevant to your needs so that you can be sure your people are in the safest hands and that you or your colleague(s) is able to deal with these situations.
The additional 2 hour additional learning could cover one of the following:
Large Wounds potentially caused by plant and machinery (e.g. chainsaws); Compression Injuries, Electrocution and Suspended Casualties.
