Arm Mounted Flail Cutter
Suitable for experienced tractor drivers, or people who have attended a tractor-driving course. Suitable for both novices and experienced flail cutter operators in agriculture, amenity, forestry and industrial industries. Environmental factors – It is very important that customers, training providers and instructors consider all relevant environmental factors and concerns when arranging courses involving the cutting and trimming of hedges and surrounding areas. Many areas of the country have varied and complex restrictions relating to cross compliance and local environmental schemes. Every effort should be made to ensure that no harm is coursed to wildlife or environmental habitat.
Course Overview
The Candidate will comply with legal requirements with an emphasis on safe practice along with identifying the risks associated with the use of flail cutters and select the appropriate PPE and machine guarding. They will carry out pre-start, daily checks and maintenance after gaining an understanding of the controls and components. The course covers the added dangers of operating on the highway and in public areas and the candidate will be able to put in place any signs or warnings in order to achieve a safe working environment. Each individual will inspect the work area for Health and Safety and Environmental concerns and safely start, stop and check all mechanisms including prime mover and cutter. Along with driving and operating the hydraulic controls to achieve an accurate cut candidates will operate the machine in a safe and competent manner, maintaining all round observation and carry out after-use checks and maintenance.
Duration: 1, 2 or 3 days
Duration is dependent on experience with flail cutter and the sections to be included. Classroom and practical.
